What actually drives beachfront value
Buying beachfront is no automatic guarantee of appreciation. What weighs most on resale value and liquidity is sun and view position (north-facing with a permanent sea view commands a premium), floor and exclusivity (few units per floor have superior liquidity), the developer's signature and track record, and the construction stage — buying off-plan at a well-priced launch tends to capture more appreciation, but requires trusting the builder.
It is worth understanding the risks before closing a deal: overpaying for a low floor with a compromised view, entering a project from a developer with no track record, or ignoring condo fees (significant in the luxury segment). Read the full analysis on investing in beachfront in BC →
